Explore Jersey
Jersey is an island to explore at your own pace, from broad beaches and coastal paths to historic places, gardens and good food. This guide will help you find ideas for days out and choose the experiences that suit your holiday.

Beaches and the coast
For a classic beach day, head to St. Brelade’s Bay for sand, cafés and places to eat nearby. If you’d rather have a long stretch of open coastline, St. Ouen’s Bay offers Atlantic views and plenty of room to walk. Jersey’s tides change the shoreline considerably, so check local tide times when planning a beach visit.
History and places to explore
Explore the towers and passageways of Mont Orgueil Castle above Gorey Harbour, or visit the Jersey War Tunnels to learn about the island during the German Occupation. For another castle day, Elizabeth Castle sits just off St Helier and tells stories from several periods of Jersey’s history.
Gardens and wildlife
Spend a day at Jersey Zoo, home of the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, or slow the pace with a walk through the Botanic Gardens at Samarès Manor. They offer two very different ways to enjoy the island beyond the beach.
Explore at your own pace
A good Jersey day doesn’t need a packed itinerary. Leave room for a beach walk, a garden visit or time to simply enjoy the view. If quieter surroundings and a flexible pace would help your family, explore our Quiet Jersey guide for more ideas.
